Joint Air Operations

Airspace Control is a pre-condition to ensure support, safety and security on ground. As a prime contractor in systems integration for Air Defense, CS already demonstrated its competency to enhance civil and military airspace safety and security.

Airspace Control is a pre-condition to ensure support, safety and security on ground. As a prime contractor in systems integration for Air Defense, CS already demonstrated its competency to enhance civil and military airspace safety and security.
Air Command and Control Centers
Airspace environment is becoming more and more congested. Managing Air Traffic Control, Integrating and controlling joint firing from all services and the deconfliction process dynamically for simultaneous fire missions requires the ability to redirect platforms and weapons in flight.
The new Advanced Defense Operations Centre is designed for Joint and Combined Air Defense Operations within a multi-service, multi-national environment.

Airport Operations Centers
Airfield is a critical resource for air operations, and especially to sustain the deployment of a multinational force package.
In 2002, French Air Force selected CS to develop and implement a new set of Airport ATC Centers, using the Network Centric concept, to equip 26 military Airbases. The programme which entered into the installation phase at the beginning of 2008, will continue until 2017, and includes Integrated Logistic Support.
The programme encompasses the fixed component, the hardened deployable component, and a Training Centre.

Maritime Air Operations
Navy, in partnership with Coast Guard and Customs, is fully committed to the safety and security of the maritime borders, at the edge of sea and ground, and of the commercial flow all along the maritime routes.

ATC Centers
At sea, and on the ground, air platforms (airfield, aircraft carrier, or frigate) are an important asset to insure air superiority and security of a naval group. CS is the leading supplier of the ATC Centers for the Naval Air Bases in France.

The system equipped Landivisiau (First Rafale unit), and also Nîmes-Garons and Toulon-Hyères, two Regional Airports with a significant flow of passengers.

Voice Communication Systems (VCS)
Voice communication is an essential part of air operations, ensuring an instantaneous link between Controller and Pilot. CS proposes a new generation of Digital Voice Communication solutions, designed to cope with the most demanding requirements.

CS proposes an innovative solution combining radio, telephone and conference, and including emergency communications. This system offers a secured, flexible and cost-effective response in order to comply with all requirements, from single ATC Tower to largest ACC or Air Defense Centers.

NATO selected CS, in partnership with Thalès Norway, to implement the VCS as a part of the Air Command and Control System (ACCS) managed by the NACMA.

The French Air Force selected CS to design and implement a new ground-air-ground (GAG) radio communication system, called SRSA (Système de Radiocommunication Sol-Air). The objective is to equip ARS and Airbase ATC centers with new resources (VoIP) for secured transmissions in support of voice and data exchanges with pilots.

Tactical Data Links
In order to enhance its position in the field of tactical data links, significantly vis-à-vis the French MoD and NATO members, CS acquired (during the final quarter of 2004) Diginext, a company specialized in the design and fabrication of complex communication systems for Navy and Air Force.
