CS & Cray sign a partnership agreement to provide advanced HPC services

CS confirms its position as designer and integrator of advanced systems by entering a strategic alliance with Cray Inc.

“This step is in-line with our forward moving transformation by precisely adjusting our HW and SW product offerings for our current customer base as well as addressing the needs of numerous new prospects in technical HPC” declared Yazid Sabeg, President of CS.
“Our excellent relations with Cray go well back into 1990 and we are thrilled to contribute to Cray’s commercial and technical excellence. CS has been operating two peta scale systems in addition to our R&D work in different simulation domains.”
Cray’s world-leading experience and excellence in advanced system design will provide unique opportunities to European industry partners facing an ever increasing demand for simulation in order to reduce time-to-market for new products.  For our academic partners access to advanced and disruptive system architectures is key to maintain France as a top contributor in world-wide research.

Our infrastructure will also allow immediate access to critical compute resources in the government space including the required support frame work based on more than 25 years of experience”
“Cray is happy to have signed this collaboration with CS which allows us to be close to an interesting and demanding customer base. The level of expertise of CS’ R&D has created excellent products and we are looking forward to common developments further improving our competiveness” declared Peter Ungaro, President and CEO of Cray.
“Our agreement is much more than a simple commercial agreement” adds Matthias Fouquet-Lapar, Chief Architect CS. “It’s a true technical partnership building on traditional strengths within CS such as mission critical software as well as advanced numerical simulations,  such as our highly scalable CFD solver LaBS which has been developed in close relationship with leading industry partners such as Airbus and Renault. We are expending this field into multi-physics simulations including collaborative user interfaces in direct cooperation with our academic and industrial partners.
Other current R&D includes fault-tolerant HW and SW for exa-scale systems, ultra-low power components as well as disruptive concepts such has hierarchal memory architectures and SDM (Software Defined Memory) “
CS is a major actor in the design, integration and operation of mission critical systems. CS is listed on the Euronext Paris stock markets - Compartment C (Shares: Euroclear 7896 / ISIN FR 0007317813). For more information, please go to: www.c-s.fr
