CS contracts for a 2nd significant Intelligent Transportation Systems project in Poland

CS announces the signing of contract in Poland with Alcatel-Lucent Polska for the supply of a complete Closed Toll System on the A2 motorway between Konin and Strykow (102-Kilometer) :

• A Toll system for two main and six ramps plazas (63 lanes in all), including lane equipment and management (entry lanes, toll booths, video system and associated information system integrating transaction management and fraud detection), supervisory centres and central operation unit, • A traffic management system, which includes installation of an Emergency Road Telephone network with call and control centre. This contract includes design, supply and installation of a turnkey system. The commissioning will be done in October 2010 and will be followed by a 3-year contract for maintenance and support. In compliance with the European standards, this system will be able, in the medium term, to accept the electronic payments. This project is part of the framework program of renovation and construction of the road infrastructures within the country (2000 kilometres all in all), in anticipation of the Euro-2012. Poland will gain a high-performance road network to improve communications, safety and quality of service for users. “After having brought into service successfully the A1 highway in October, 2008, CS signs a new contract in Poland.
